In this work, Mother Maria is reimagined as self-possessed rather than endlessly giving. Her eyeroll and the phrase “I don’t do miracles for free” highlight the unpaid labor historically expected of women. Maria embodies goddess, human, mother, daughter, and wife, reflecting the awakening of feminine consciousness. Her upward gaze evokes spiritual reception and aligns with the third eye, echoing sacred art traditions. Sensual yet sovereign, she refuses to be consumed. This Maria is both divine and human, reminding us that divinity includes the authority to say no.

本作においてマリアは、無限に与え続ける存在ではなく、自己の主権をもつ主体として描き直されている。彼女のやや白眼視のようなまなざしと「もう無料で奇跡は起こさない」という言葉は、歴史の中で女性に課されてきた無償労働と、その不可視性を示唆している。

マリアは同時に、女神であり、人間であり、母であり、娘であり、そして妻でもある。その多層的な姿は、女性意識の目覚めを映し出す像でもある。

彼女の上方への視線は、高次の知覚や情報との接続を暗示し、聖像画における上向きのまなざしの伝統とも静かに響き合う。それは超越への志向であると同時に、内側へと向かう感覚の方向でもある。

彼女は感性的でありながら自律的であり、消費されることを拒む存在である。人であり、神でもあるという二重の位置から、彼女は語る――神性とは、与える力であると同時に、「拒む権利」でもあるのだと。
