In Lin’s work, the sun is used as a symbol of masculine energy, while the moon embodies the feminine. The sun projects outward, radiant, assertive, and expansive, whereas the moon gathers inward, illuminated from within.
Lin does not position these forces in opposition. Instead, she considers their interdependence: the sun appears hollow without the receptivity of the moon, and the moon finds its glow through the existence of the sun.
Her exploration is neither a rejection nor hierarchy of gendered archetypes, but a pursuit of equilibrium, where outward force and inner luminosity coexist, forming a complete and balanced system.
リンの作品において、太陽は男性性の象徴として、月は女性性の象徴として用いられている。
太陽は外へと放射し、明るく、能動的で拡張的な力を示す。一方、月は内へと集約し、内側から照らされる存在として描かれる。
リンはこれらを対立するものとして位置づけてはいない。むしろ両者の相互依存性に注目している。受容する月の存在なくして太陽は空虚となり、太陽の存在なくして月はその光を得ることができない。
この探究は、性別的な原型の否定でも序列化でもない。外へ向かう力と内に宿る光が共存し、ひとつの均衡した全体を形成する、その状態を探る試みである。
